I have been creating since childhood through writing rhyming poetry and drawing. In the teen years, I became fascinated with the concept of mise-en-scene, which is the design and arrangement of props, people, and composition in either theatre or cinema. This love for imagery prompted me to study broadcasting and film in college, where I dabbled in film, video, and screenwriting. After a few years of TV shows, films, and reading screenplays for studios, I decided I needed a change from Hollywood.
Thoughout the many changes in my life, my love for writing and the arts have been my companions through joy, grief, adversity, and success. Writing has been a doorway to connect with myself and the world around me. Photography has been a way to bridge emotions with nature, revealing through metaphorical imagery, the depths of the heart and mind.
With my poetry collection, Rainbows in the Night: Poems, I wanted to combine my love for writing and photography to tell a story about transformation, and the journey of eclipse to illumination.
Poetry has the ability to heal and break boundaries. The gift of words is powerful. These beliefs led me to create my company, WordMuse.
At WordMuse, I design and create poetry merchandise that are tokens of inspiration and affirmation. Although the merchandise are small in size, these tokens provide BIG reminders of hope, possibility, and the permission to be oneself.
